Welcome to Schertz Animal Hospital! We can’t wait to get to know you and your pet better. At our animal hospital, we aim to create a welcoming, stress-free environment for pets and owners alike.

What to Expect for Your First Visit
- Before your first appointment with us, fill out our new client form online. This saves you time in the clinic and helps us to start to get to know you!
- Be sure to collect a fresh (no more than 2 hours old) fecal sample to bring with you to your appointment. We'll need this to test for intestinal parasites!
- Constrain your pet with either a leash or in a carrier before you enter the practice for the safety of all our patients, clients, and staff.
- When you arrive, a veterinary technician will take you into an exam room as soon as it's ready. There, they'll ask some questions about your pet's basic medical history.
- The veterinarian will come in soon after to further assess your pet. They'll perform a full physical and weight check, and may order age-appropriate diagnostics like blood work as needed. Your pet may also receive any needed vaccinations at this time.
- We encourage you to ask questions along the way and we always try to explain all of our findings in full so you have a better understanding of your pet's health!
- After all your questions have been answered, you'll be sent home with instructions for any medications, diet changes, etc. as needed. Don't be afraid to call us at (210) 659-0345 or stop in again with any more concerns or questions. We're more than happy to help.
