  • Vaccination administration (based on your pet’s personalized vaccine protocol)

Flea, Tick, and Heartworm Prevention

In Schertz and the greater San Antonio area, fleas, ticks, and heartworms are an especially big problem for our pets. These parasites not only make our pets ill, but fleas and ticks can affect our human families, too. That’s why we put such a strong emphasis on consistent flea, tick, and heartworm prevention in each individual pet wellness care plan. Yet, we understand it can be difficult for busy pet owners to administer monthly preventatives which is why we offer a variety of options.

For Heartworm

As an alternative to a heartworm pill, we recommend ProHeart for heartworm prevention in dogs. ProHeart is an injectable preventative that protects your dog from heartworm disease for either 6 or 12 months (depending on the dose given). Cats also need protection, so talk to us about your cat’s options, too.

For Fleas & Ticks

While most flea and tick preventatives require monthly administration, some, such as Bravecto for cats and dogs, allow you to go 3 months between administrations. Talk to us about your pet’s flea, tick, and heartworm prevention options at your next appointment!

Pet Food & Nutrition

Your pet’s food is a vital factor for their long-term health and well-being. With so many choices and pet food myths out there, we act as your nutrition advisor and give you educated recommendations on the right diet for your cat or dog. You can purchase pet food from our clinic, or online from Purina Pro Plan or our online pharmacy.
